Description

The Gong Network showed a really cool prominence on the sun today, and since it was actually clear this morning, I got everything set up waiting for the sun to clear the trees. You guessed it! As soon as I was set up, the clouds rolled in. Hoping beyond hope, I left everything set up to see what would happen. For the next two hours scattered clouds moved across the sky, then it became completely overcast. By then I was on to other things so I didn't have a chance to dismantle the scope and put everything away. With about a half hour to go before the sun  went behind the trees to the west, a clearing suddenly appeared. It lasted all of eight minutes before the clouds came back with a vengeance. I managed to get ten, 30 second videos. Here's the best of the bunch.
